Obituary of Judith Lynn Roberts Spegal

Judith Lynn Roberts Spegal of Independence, age 76, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 7, 2022, in the comfort of her own home. She was born in Covington, KY on February 28, 1946. Judith graduated from Simon Kenton Highschool and then attended EKU and UK where she obtained her master’s degree. She later retired as a library media specialist for Kenton County schools. Judith spent many years teaching students and working as a librarian. She even wrote 2 children’s books herself. She was always a very active member at her church, Carter’s Chapel. Judith spent many years of her life tending to her family farm that was very special to her. In her spare time, she enjoyed making greeting cards, working at her church, and reading. Judith was very crafty and educated but her greatest talent of all was her ability to make a house a home. She loved her family with every ounce of her being and loved spending time with them. Judith was a matriarch to her community; she was the best wife and mother anyone could ask for. Her family feels truly blessed to have had her as their mother.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Henrietta Roberts.

She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Lloyd Wayne Spegal; loving children, Gary Wayne (Lana) Spegal and Julie Lynn Spegal; as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The service will begin at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, Judith will be laid to rest at Gardnersville Cemetery in Demossville, KY.
