Obituary of Linda Meagher

Linda Mary Meagher, age 62, passed away enveloped in the love of family at her residence in Erlanger, KY on December 25, 2022. She was born to James Meagher and Colletta [Riesenbeck] Meagher on May 25, 1960 in Covington, KY. She was raised on the family farm, and was a near life-long resident of Independence, KY. 

Linda led a quiet life mostly at home, but that didn’t mean she didn’t enjoy outings. She loved to go to the movies, to King’s Island to see Snoopy, the Cincinnati Zoo, and out to eat at Texas Roadhouse and Lee’s Famous Recipe. Second only to her birthday (which was pretty much a national holiday in her eyes and those of her family), Linda loved Christmastime. It’s bittersweetly poetic that she entered and exited this world on her two favorite days.  Truly, though, holiday or not--Linda loved any excuse for she and her family and friends to get together. She was a people and an animal person who loved music and dancing.  A generous and kind soul, she was always more concerned about everyone else over herself. A Linda-shaped hole exists for all those who were blessed to know this special lady.

Those beloved ones left behind are Linda’s siblings, Jim (Pat) Meagher, Jerry (Gloria) Meagher, Phyllis Berling, Janet Meagher, Don Meagher and Mary Meagher; many treasured nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as her precious Siamese cat Red and dog Dusti Rose. Linda was preceded in death by her parents James and Colletta Meagher and her brother Tom Meagher.

A visitation will be held Friday, December 30, 2022 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Directly following the visitation, a funeral service celebrating Linda’s life will take place, also at the funeral home. Linda will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery that afternoon following the funeral.
