Obituary of Wayne L. Fields

It is with profound sadness that we bring the news that Wayne L. Fields, age 72, passed away peacefully enveloped in the love of family at his residence on February 24, 2023.  Born in Covington, KY, Wayne was the son of Leslie and Marcella [Gooch] Fields.

After receiving his Bachelor’s from Western Kentucky University Wayne entered the workforce.  After a long career as a Product Developer at Procter & Gamble, he retired. Forever the animal lover, after retirement,  Wayne attended National K-9 in Columbus, Ohio where he became a certified Master K-9 Trainer. He then opened Canine Companion Training and Boarding Center in Walton, KY. Wayne trained all breeds of dogs but his favorites were German Shepherds.  He enjoyed golfing and loved to watch the Bengals and UK Basketball.

Wayne leaves behind beloved wife Xiaohui Liu Fields and treasured brother Marc Fields. He was preceded in death by his parents and also his sister Connie Sapp.

A gathering of friends will be held to celebrate Wayne’s life at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy., Florence, KY 41042, on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. The family will receive guests from 6:00 PM until 8:00PM.  In keeping with his wishes, Wayne will be cremated.  His ashes will be scattered in a private ceremony at the convenience of the family.
