Arnold “Arnie” Short, 68, of Walton, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. The son of the late Barbara-Jean Short and Gola Short, Arnie was born in Covington, KY on November 9, 1954.

After attending Boone County High School, Arnie joined the US Army in 1975 where he served his country as a Sergeant (E5) and Combat Engineer.  After leaving the Army, Arnie became a General Contractor in the Commercial/Light Industrial space.  Decades later, after a few years as a small business owner, he worked for the US Postal Service as a Rural Carrier until he retired in 2022.

Arnie was a loving grandfather, an avid gardener, a lifetime reader, and always enjoyed finding outdoor projects to work on.

Those left to carry on Arnie’s legacy are his children, Ryan (Sarah) Goss, Chris (Allison) Short, Matt (Kellie) Short, and Jami VanSchuyver, as well as his brother John Short and his numerous grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Arnie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 35 years, Evelyn Short, and his siblings, Robert, Linda, Barbara, and James.
