Obituary of Richard Roosevelt Hyden

Richard Roosevelt Hyden, age 72, of Latonia Lakes, KY, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Healthcare in Edgewood, KY.  He was a former Brakeman for CSX railroad and a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  Richard enjoyed hunting and fishing, telling stories, watching old movies, and repairing instruments.  He was a “guitar man”, gifted with the ability to play many instruments and enjoyed listening to all kinds of music.  Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Carrie Hyden; son, Walter Huey Hyden, II; brother, James Hyden; and sisters, Emma Jean Ransom, Joan Hamons, and Carol Morris.  Left to carry on his legacy are his wife (of 49 years), Sylvia Caalaman Hyden; son, David Benjamin John Hyden (Diane); daughter, Kimberly Karwowski; sisters, Joyce Hummell and Janet Kuhn; and grandchildren, Gloria Hyden, Rosalie Hyden, Vincent Hyden, Victor Hyden, Eddie Karwowski and Shawn Karwowski.  A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held by the family at a later date.  A private interment will take place at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.  Memorial donations may be made to the Hyden Family by clicking here.  To leave the family a message of condolence, please go to www.chambersandgrubbs.com.
