Beulah “Boots” Ware Hayes Tillett, age 99, of Independence, KY, passed away at Emerald Trace on Turkeyfoot on Monday, July 24, 2023.  She was a homemaker, a member and former Sunday School Teacher at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, and a Kentucky Colonel.  “Boots” also enjoyed crafts, crocheting, flower gardening, mowing grass on her John Deere mower, wallpapering and volunteering throughout the community.  Her zest for life and her energy and love of others was admired by all those who knew her.  She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Doda Mae Armstrong Hayes; beloved husband (of 65 years) Preston Tillett; daughter, Lyndia Gayle Bingham; sister, Mary Noble; and brother, Charles Hayes.  Left to carry on her legacy are her daughters, Patricia Jean Raleigh (Dwight) and Carolyn Sue Burkhardt (Richard); three grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.  Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with the funeral service immediately following at 12 noon at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Road, Independence, KY 41051.  Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Ft.
