Obituary of Beulah Girdler
Beulah Virginia Soard Girdler, age 100, was born May 5, 1923, in Somerset, Kentucky. Beulah was the daughter of the late Cyrenus and Addie Colyer Soard. She departed this life on Friday, August 4, 2023, at her home surrounded by family.
On March 23, 1940, Beulah married the love of her life, Carl William Girdler who passed away on May 20, 2004. During their 64-year union, the couple had nine beautiful children. She is survived by her children Charles (Wanda) Girdler, Charlene (Bill) Fletcher, Linda (John) Baker, Christie (Larry) Mann, Teresa (Lee) Releford; 30 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 61 great-great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Edith Kellis. Four children preceded her in death, Imogene Lashinsky, Diane Epperson, Jeff Girdler, and Paul Girdler.
Beulah was the last surviving child of Cyrenus and Addie Colyer Soard. Beulah had two sisters, Hazel New and Mildred Hall, and two brothers, Ray Soard and James Soard who all preceded her in death. Beulah was a lifetime member of the Crescent Springs Church of God, where she loved and supported the ladies and youth ministries. Beulah loved to sew, make clothes for others, bake cakes and pies, and she especially enjoyed baking her famous red velvet cake. She most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
A visitation will be held between 10 AM and 12 PM on Thursday, August 10th with her funeral service to immediately follow at 12 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy, Florence, KY 41042. Beulah will be laid to rest next to her husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
