Obituary of Carol A. Young

Carol A. Young of Union, age 82, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, at the Seasons of Alexandria. She was born in West Babylon, New York on July 5, 1941, to the late Eric and Freida Steentofte. Carol retired after working many years as a registered nurse and was a member of the American Nurses Association. She had a caretaker’s heart and overflowed with compassion as she could not bear to see others hurting. In her free time, Carol enjoyed quilting, knitting, sewing, and painting. She especially loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, making meals for her family, and even decorating cakes for various family events! She was a mother, grandma, great grandma, and sister who will be deeply missed by those who loved her.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer (Bryan) Haddock and Rebecca Young; beloved grandchildren, Kyle (Brianne) Haddock and Lauren (Daniel) Choi; great-grandchildren, Abigail Haddock and Isaiah Choi; brother, Eric (Carol) Steentofte; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, William “Bill” Young and her sister, Marlene Taylor.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Walton, 47 S Main St. Walton, KY 41094. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM at the church. Immediately following the service, Carol will be laid to rest at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, OH.
