Obituary of Phyllis S. Feagan

Phyllis S. Feagan of Covington, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 31st, 2023. She was born in Covington, KY on June 2nd, 1937, to the late Earl and Edith Spanton. Phyllis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Covington, KY for over 15 years.

After serving for 49 years as a bus driver, Phyllis retired from the bus garage. She was a loyal and devoted employee, who worked hard to support her family. For many years, Phyllis would drive three bus routes daily, then work evenings at the Taylor Mill McDonald’s. She took pride in being the one employee who could repair their ice cream machine. When Phyllis wasn’t hard at work, she spent her days tending to her garden. She was an amazing cook; fried chicken with mashed potatoes and white gravy was her specialty. Phyllis was a mother, grandma, and great grandma who loved her family beyond measure.

She is survived by her children, Eugene R. (Ruth) Feagan III, Eileen (Steve) Kees, Cathleen (Chris) Rahschulte, and Karen (Richard) Schwartz; grandchildren, Bethany (Seth) McDonald, Samuel Kees, Zachary (Myrle) Kees, Joanna (John) Young, Alec Feagan, Sarah Feagan, Tyler (Rina Sim) Rahschulte, Caitlyn Rahschulte, Benjamin (Samantha) Schwartz, Collin (Lydia) Schwartz, Nathanael Schwartz, Lydia Schwartz, and Piper Schwartz; and her great-grandchildren, Ella McDonald, Tidus Young, Liadan McDonald, Abigail Kees, Emma Kees, Leighton Schwartz, Eleanora Schwartz, and Liam Schwartz.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Eugene R. Feagan II, and her sister, Lois Rust.

A visitation will be held on Friday, September 8th, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM with services immediately following at 12:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY. Immediately following the service, Phyllis will be laid to rest next to her husband at KY Veterans Cemetery in Williamstown, KY.
