Obituary of Donald "Donnie" Martin

Donald “Donnie” Martin, 58, of Morning View, KY, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. The son of Raymond and Ruby {Vinson} Martin, Donnie was born in Covington, on September 13, 1965. Donnie was formerly the City Administrator for the City of Bellevue and eventually went on to retire as the City Administrator for the City of Ft. Thomas.

Donnie was a lifetime member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church in Independence, KY. In his spare time, Donnie enjoyed hiking, bird watching, and bird photography. Talented by nature, Donnie was known for his impressive vocals as well as his artistic skills when it came to drawing. A proud Father and Papaw, Donnie most of all cherished the time spent with his beloved children and grandchildren as they were the light of his life.

Those left to carry on Donnie’s legacy are his two sons Robert (Lillian) Martin and Phoenix Martin; Mother Ruby Martin; brother Mike Martin; and his four grandchildren.

Donnie was preceded in death by his father Raymond Martin and his brother Robert “Bobby” Martin.

A visitation will be held between 4 PM and 6 PM with the funeral service to immediately follow at 6 PM on Tuesday, September 26^th at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, 11969 Taylor Mill Rd, Independence, KY 41051.
