Obituary of Sarah Jeanette Rust
Sarah Jeanette Rust of Bradenton, FL, age 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at Manatee Memorial Hospital, with her loving family at her bedside. She was born in Hazard, KY on October 11, 1944, to the late Clark and Demia {Rice} Daniels. Sarah was the owner of Dixie Chili in Beechgrove, Kentucky for 17 years, and a retired seamstress at Palm Beach Company in Erlanger, Ky for 21 years. She later retired from DHL Airways as a Corporate trainer. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and crocheting. Sarah adored her family. She loved playing and going shopping with her grandkids and daughters. Sarah was a wonderful wife, mom, grandma, and sister who is going to be deeply missed by those who loved her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandson, Lucas Timmerding.
Survivors include her loving husband of 48 years, Robert Rust; children, Cherie (Brandon) Bennett, Cindy (Bob) Kiely, Angela Walker, and Harvey Pickett; siblings, Faye Bowling, Walker (Debbie) Daniels, Eugene Daniels, Wayne Daniels, Connie (Danny) Gilbert, and Jack Daniels; beloved grandchildren, Bailey, Alaina, Chris, Danielle, Alicia, Erika, Alexis, Ryan, R.G., Natasha, and Sarah; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023, at 10:00 AM, at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, Sarah will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery.
