Obituary of Samantha Raye Glenn
Samantha Raye Glenn, 42, of Morning View, KY passed away in her sleep on Monday, October 30, 2023. She is the daughter of Charlie Abdon Sr. and Toni [Ishmael] Abdon. She was born on February 19, 1981 in Ft. Thomas, KY. Sam was an organ and tissue donor and helped nearly 100 people in her passing.
She was a graduate of Simon Kenton High School as well as the National College of Business, Beckfield College, and the University of Phoenix. Sam specialized in medical billing and coding. She spent her career working at Cincinnati Children’s and St. Elizabeth.
Sam was always the last one to leave a party and made sure everyone around her had a great time. She was also a fabulous cook and the queen of karaoke. Sam frequented concerts and shared her love of music with family and friends. She was the songleader at Goshen Christian Church and always had a smile on her face.
Everyone would describe Sam as an amazing mother, wife, and friend. She made each person feel special and loved.
Sam is preceded in death by her grandparents, Sam and Bettie Ishmael; paternal grandmother Lucille Abdon; and mother-in-law, Alice Glenn.
Sam is survived in the hearts of her husband, Wayne Glenn; daughter, Goldie Glenn; parents, Charlie and Toni Abdon; twin brother, Charlie (Amber) Abdon; sisters-in-law, April Glenn (Jackie), Shelly (Matt) Morgan, and Tammy (Cliff) Brown; and father-in-law, Kenny Glenn. Sam also deeply loved her many nieces and nephews: Hunter and Emma Abdon, Jacob (Rachael) Brown, Autumn Halberstadt (James), Madeline Morgan (Mason), Connor Morgan, Kirby and Blair Detwiler. She also leaves behind her beloved wiener dog, Cole Trane.
A visitation will be held Sunday, November 5, 2023, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home in Independence, KY from 2:00-5:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 6 at 11:00 am, also at the funeral home. Sam will be laid to rest at Goshen Christian Church Cemetery in Piner, KY.
