Obituary of James Ramon Scroggins

James Ramon Scroggins, age 81, of Independence, KY, passed away, Thursday, November 2, 2023, at his residence.  He was a retired Mechanic for General Electric, a United States Army Veteran and a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church in Taylor Mill, KY.  Jim loved working on cars, watching any type of car racing, and following his beloved Reds, Bengals, and U.K. Wildcats. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Marie Scroggins; sister, Norma Scroggins; and parents, James E. and Evelyn K. Scroggins.  Those left to carry on Jim’s legacy include his sons, Lee Hahn and Robert P. Bacon; grandchildren, Stephanie Magee (Steven) and Brandon Bacon (Mallory); great grandchildren, Benjamin Magee, Sean Magee, Burce Bacon, Brenlee Bacon, and Zerena Bacon; and great-great grandson, Spencer Landon Magee.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 9, 2023, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon with the funeral service immediately following at noon at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051.  Interment with military honors will be at Floral Hills Cemetery.  Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 6056 Taylor Mill Rd., Covington, KY 41015
