Obituary of Virgil McIntosh

Virgil McIntosh, 85, of Florence, died at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. He was a retired pipe fitter from Interlake Steel, Newport, and a charter member of Newport First Church of God. His first wife, Dempsey Turner McIntosh, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Jane Crupper McIntosh; sons, James McIntosh of Covington, Verlin McIntosh, Walter McIntosh, and Lowell McIntosh, all of Taylor Mill; daughters, Freda Sparks and Frances McIntosh, both of Taylor Mill, and Marita Collins of Covington; brothers, Daily McIntosh of Taylor Mill, Ben McIntosh of Independence, Mitchell McIntosh of Williamstown, and Walter McIntosh Jr. of Newport; sisters, Elizabeth Sebastian of Morning View and Pearlie Curtis of Walton; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Newport First Church of God, 338 E. Ninth St., Newport, Ky. 41071; or New Heart Church of God, 2305 Holds Branch Road, Covington, Ky. 41017.
