Obituary of Naomi Phillips
Naomi Phillips of Erlanger, age 100, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Edgewood, KY. She was born in Fiskburg, KY on June 16, 1923, to the late Cora {Elliott} and Orvie Menefee. Naomi was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she was very involved. She enjoyed spending a lot of her time volunteering at church, teaching Sunday school classes, gardening and canning vegetables, sewing, and cooking. She effortlessly made a house a home for her family. Naomi was always a busy body and was sometimes called an “energizer bunny”. She was young at heart, spunky, and never met a stranger. Her resilience will for ever be admired by her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Charles E. Phillips; children, Marcia R. Wehrman-Deuschle and Ronald E. Phillips; and her granddaughter, Erika Deuschle.
Survivors include her son, David Phillips; beloved grandchildren, Mark Phillips, Paul Phillips, Sarah Kalen, Rebecca Monroe, Rachel Jackson, Brittany Mallasch, Evon Wehrman, Desirae Mercer, Phillip Lipschutz and Duran Deuschle; 24 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; as well as countless friends and other relatives who will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. A funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM at the funeral home. At a later date, Naomi will be interred privately at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Taylor Mill, KY.
