Edwin G. Kirkpatrick, age 87 of Burlington, KY passed away on January 15, 2024.
Born to Albert and Mildred (Gaines) Kirkpatrick in Burlington on October1, 1936. While growing up he helped on the family farm. He eventually cared for his own cattle on K’s Acres. Most of the cattle (Registered Polled Hereford) came from the Domino line. Even though the cattle had registered names, they all had nick names as well because even though they were show cattle, they were also farm pets. Nick names as “Gentle”, “Nac”, “Pansy”, and the family favorite, “Dolly”.
Edwin was a man of principle. He retired as a registered surveyor, both for individuals and businesses. He also worked for 30+ years, retiring from the Kentucky Department of Highways.
His life was a testament to Christ’s love. He and his wife, Shirley, were staples in the community. The Kirkpatrick’s attended and ministered at many churches in Northern Kentucky. He also ministered at the T/A truck stop in Florence, KY. He spread the gospel in jails in Boone, Kenton, and Campbell counties. He established Ten Mile Bible School, which at first served the jail ministry but then spread, saving souls all over the world. Most everyone in the community always knew Edwin upon sight when he wore his railroad hats or when dressed up in his green bow ties.
Welcoming Edwin in Heaven is his devoted wife; Shirley (Hodges) Kirkpatrick, his loving parents; Albert and Mildred Kirkpatrick, and his son-in-law; Thomas Stetter.
He leaves behind his daughter, Ruth Ann Kirkpatrick.
To honor Edwin a memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Florence Baptist Church, 642 Mt. Zion Road, Florence, KY. Visitation will start at 2:00pm. Service will follow at 4:00pm
