Barbara Lynn Fields of Independence, age 77, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, at Florence Park Care Center. She was born in Covington, KY on October 17, 1946, to the late Rosemary {Huelsman} Warren and Guy Joseph Warren. After Barbara retired as an accounting supervisor, she loved attending NASCAR races with her husband and traveling all over the world with her daughter to places such as Europe, India, Egypt, Cambodia, Zambia, and the Navajo Nation. Her kind and caring nature led her to be an avid volunteer throughout her life. She dedicated her time to helping with charity events such as the AIDS Walk, volunteered at a homeless shelter in Covington, taught crafts to young adults with disabilities, and was a Big Sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing yoga, making greeting cards, and spending time with her best friend, Ruth and her beloved brother, Jeff, to whom she was extremely close. Barbara was a mom, grandma, sister, and friend whose big heart and great sense of humor will be dearly missed.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Dennis “Denny” Fields and her sister, Mary Jo Noel.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Kelly Chipemba and Tracy (Rob) Hughes; stepson, Dwayne Fields; beloved grandchildren, Jordan McCormick, Brendan and Samantha; brother, Jeff Warren; as well as other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, Barbara will be laid to rest at Independence Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made in her name to Habitat for Humanity.
