Obituary of Rita "Charlene" Ginzinger
Rita “Charlene” Ginzinger née Meinecke, 81, of Florence, KY, passed away on February 9, 2024 at her home. The daughter of the late Elmer and Emma {Fussnecker} Meinecke, Charlene was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 14, 1942. Charlene was employed at the Erlanger Food Mart as a cashier and later retired from Palm Beach Men’s Wearhouse in Erlanger after 15 years in their Quality Control Department. In her spare time, Charlene enjoyed sewing, decorating, crafting, listening to music, dancing, and gardening. Most of all, she cherished the time spent with her grandchildren.
Those left to carry on her legacy are her beloved children, Sandra (Donald) J. Ginzinger Haupt, Rhonda (Steve) Ginzinger Lane, and Brenda Ginzinger; grandchildren Amber, Brandon, Jenna, Taylor, and Connor Lane, and Cory Fluegeman; great-grandchildren Landon, Mia, Aubree, and Carson; brother Charles Meinecke; and sister Jacqueline Meinecke Smith.
In addition to her parents, Charlene was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Ronald F. Ginzinger and sisters Patricia A. Fix and Mary Anne Martini.
A memorial mass will be held at St. Aloysius on the Ohio Catholic Church, 6218 Portage St, Cincinnati, OH 45233 on Friday, February 16, 2024 at 10:30 AM.
Directly following mass will be a celebration of life and reception at Wolfer Hall (located on the parish premises). Those wishing to pay respects may do so following mass at the reception on-site.
Charlene will be inurned at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY in a private ceremony at the convenience of the family.
