Janice Robertson Houston, age 86, of Walton, KY, passed away Thursday, March 21, 2024, at her residence.  “Jan” was a retired Realtor and a member of Community Family Church in Independence, KY.  She had a tremendous work ethic and exhibited it as the first female dispatcher in the Tri-State, in her earlier years, for Line Haul Trucking and as an award winning Realtor in her later years in Northern Kentucky.  Some of her favorite sayings she passed along to her beloved daughters were “You depend upon yourself and that way you won’t be disappointed by others” and “The sign says to yield not to give up”.  The best way to motivate her to do something was to tell her she couldn’t do it! 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph “Sonny” Houston, her parents, David Glenn and Flora Mae Bradford Robertson; and her brothers, William Robertson, David Robertson, James “J.R.” Robertson, and Roy Robertson.  Left to carry on her legacy were her daughters, Glenna Crystal Wilson (Ron) and Holly Leigh Carpenter (Todd); sister, Barbara Pope; grandchildren, Bradford O. Young (Melissa), Stacey Caldwell (Rob), Lauryn Wilson, Hannah Wilson (Jair), Gabreial Wyatt (Gabriel), Jocelyn Hatfield (Cody), and Houston Carpenter (Lauren); and great grandchildren, Hermioney Young, Trenton Young, Hudson Caldwell, Wyatt Thomas (Jessa), Noah Wyatt, Jane Wyatt, Sterling Hatfield, Clementine Hatfield, and Ephraim Hatfield.
