Obituary of Daniel Farrar
Daniel P. Farrar, 78, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2024, at the Cincinnati VA Medical Center. He was born on November 13, 1945, in Covington, KY, to Marvin and Elma Farrar (nee Daniel). Dan was a resident of Independence, KY and was a 1964 graduate of Newport High School. He married Donna Farrar (nee Hall) on August 31, 1968. Dan was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served in Greenland, before beginning a long career at Cincinnati Bell. After retiring, he then enjoyed working several years at American Airlines.
Dan loved spending time with his family and sharing his passion for all things Kentucky Wildcats, horseracing, baseball and the great outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He also dedicated many years to youth sports as a baseball coach.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Donna, his parents, Marvin and Elma, and his brothers, Marvin Jr. and Daryl Sr.
Dan is survived by his two sons, Bryce (Thania) and Darren (Kelly), and his four grandchildren, Evan, Emma, Emery, and Ellis, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Kay Farrar, Judy Tennant, Betty Jones, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A visitation will be held between 10 AM and 12 PM with a funeral service to immediately follow at 12 PM on Monday, April 8th at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. Dan will be laid to rest at KY Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown where military rites will be held.
