Obituary of Diane Holakowski

Diane Holakowski of Taylor Mill, age 71, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Carmel Manor in Ft. Thomas, KY. She was born in Buffalo, NY on March 10, 1953, and retired as an administrative officer at the VA Medical Center. Diane was a faithful wife, loving mom, compassionate grandma, beloved daughter, and sister. She loved celebrating birthdays with her family and hosting holiday dinners, especially for Christmas. She was the number one fan at her grandkids soccer and volleyball games where she loved to cheer them on. She instilled important knowledge about life into her grandkids - she referred to it as Grandma’s School of Hard Knocks. Diane also enjoyed staying active by going on cruises and traveling, whether it was a trip in the RV or flying across seas. A few of her favorite destinations include Australia, Hawaii, and Iceland. Diane was always crafty and enjoyed doing oil paintings and ceramics. She truly had a heart of gold and always wanted the best for everyone. To know her was to love her and she will be dearly missed by those who loved her.

She is preceded by her father Edward Lisowski.

Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Stanley Holakowski; her children, Karen (Cody) Shay, Jeffrey (Beth) Holakowski and Lisa (Dave) McIver; beloved grandchildren, Alli, Emily, Camryn and Luke; mother, Estelle Lisowski; siblings, Elizabeth (Dan) Olejniczak, Patricia Bullaro, Edward Lisowski and Daniel (Dana) Lisowski; as well as several other friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, 5313 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. A Memorial Mass will begin at 10:00 AM, at the church. Immediately following mass, Diane will be laid to rest at St. Cecilia Cemetery.
