Obituary of Judith "Judy" Franxman

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Judith Ann [Billiter] Franxman, age 82, better known to all who loved her as Judy, passed away unexpectedly at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, Edgewood, KY, on the morning of May 3, 2024.

She was born in Covington, KY to Orla Billiter and Geneva [Courtney] Billiter on March 24, 1942.

Judy’s home and hearth were the center of her world. It was decorated with all of her favorite things, many of which were created from the work of her own hands.  Judy’s hobbies were ceramics and caring for her little dog Raven.

She possessed a green thumb and relished time outside with her plants and flowers. She befriended those creatures that lived and shared her space outdoors as well. Whether they were domesticated or wild, all animals were close to Judy’s heart. She fed anything and everything that would wander up on her back porch.

Judy was an exemplary mother and human being. She embodied the best of qualities: unconditional love, strength of spirit, and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as her entire family and countless others, including many friends.

Judy was the cherished mom of Ricky (Lisa Lee) Franxman, Dale Franxman and Tammy (Danny) Abdon; sisters Donna Harris, Sharon Osbourne, Denny Arnold and Ronnie Arnold; beloved grandma to Alisha Franxman, Erica (Caden) Doyle, Kady Johnson, Kendal, Franxman, Lauren Franxman; and beloved great-grandma to Asher and Auden Doyle.

Judy was also the precious sister of Arlene (Billiter) Traylor and Robbie Arnold as well as the adored wife of Jack Franxman, who all preceded her in death.

Judy will be lovingly laid to rest and reunited with Jack in an intimate ceremony at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North, 205 Eibeck Ln, Williamstown, KY, 41097 on Friday May 10, 2024 at 12:00 PM. Those wishing to pay final respects are asked to please meet at the main entrance of the cemetery by 11:45AM.

Whether they were domesticated or wild, all animals were close to Judy’s heart. In lieu of flowers or other expressions of sympathy, friends and loved ones are asked instead to donate in Judy’s name to the Boone County Animal Shelter. Those wishing to give may donate online.

Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family. To share a memory or photo of Judy or to offer an online condolence, please visit the tabs on this page.
