Obituary of Linda Ann Kavanaugh Purvis
Linda Ann Kavanaugh Purvis of Independence, age 70, entered Heaven’s gates on Sunday, May 12, 2024, at St. Elizabeth in Edgewood, KY. She was born in Covington, KY on November 22, 1953, to the late Paul Kavanaugh and Emma {Coleman} Kavanaugh Scalf. Linda retired from the IRS after years of working in Human Resources. Linda was always a smart woman and had the heart of a caretaker. She had a strong bond with her mother, Emma, who she took care of for many years. It was almost comforting that she passed on Mother’s Day to be with her. Linda liked having nice things and loved to shop. She was a collector of many items- especially beanie babies. For fun, she enjoyed playing cards and gambling. Although, you might not want her sitting at the same roulette table as she was quite good at winning! Linda was a giver, with a great sense of humor, and she loved her family dearly. She will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving siblings, Paula Kavanaugh True (Jimbo), Ronnie Scalf (Sherry), Danny Scalf, Anita Kavanaugh Marksbury (Jerry), Dawn Kavanaugh Emory (Darnell), and Dana Kavanaugh; spouse, Thomas Purvis; stepmother, Pauline Ingram; several nieces and nephews; as well as other close friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.
In addition to her mother and father, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, the man who raised her, RD Scalf; her first husband, Stephen Wesley Moore; and her brother, Gene Kavanaugh.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM, at the funeral home. Immediately following the service, Linda will be laid to rest next to her family at Highland Cemetery in Ft. Mitchell, KY.
