Obituary of Jeanetta Floyd
Jeanetta Pearl Stewart Floyd, age 91, of Florence, KY, went on to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, at her residence. She was a homemaker, a member of Impact Life Ministries Church, KY, a long-time member of Community Family Church (where she was instrumental in starting the Women’s Ministry), and a woman of great faith. Her husband (of 67 years), Brother Jim Floyd, who preceded her in death, was a long-time Pastor and Associate Pastor at Community Family Church and “Sister Floyd” and he served side by side for many years there. Her testimony of God’s grace included being healed of Hepatitis C and colon cancer, and she survived breast cancer.
She enjoyed collecting antiques, Precious Moment figurines, sewing, decorating, and cooking. She was especially known for her lemon cake, macaroni and cheese, and sausage and egg biscuits. Sister Floyd was also known to speak the truth in love (and to tell it like it is). One of her favorite sayings was “you’ve seen one, you’ve seen em all”.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by step-sons, Gary Dale Floyd and Richard “Dickie” Floyd, parents, Robert G. and Della Gumm Stewart, sisters, Audrey, Ruth, Geraldine, and Rosella, and a brother Paul. Her legacy continues through her loving daughter, Renee Floyd and son, Pastor Kelly Floyd (Malisa); brother Ted Stewart; grandchildren, Jeremy Shawn Robbins, Natasha Dawn Robbins, Brookes Robbins, Caleb Adam Robbins, Austin Floyd, Tina Smith (Darrell), Tracy Cliff (Todd), Nicole Elliott, Nikki Floyd, Shelli Cummiskey (Sean), Dale Floyd, Jenna Gilbert (Josh), and Stefany Floyd; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including Rhonda Hunt, Robin Brown (Tom), Annette Goodin, and Deborah Gross.
Visitation for Sister Floyd will be Tuesday, May 28, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., with the funeral service beginning at 7 p.m., at Community Family Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Rd., Independence, KY 41051. Her committal service will be Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Floral Hills Cemetery in Covington, KY.
