Betty Jo Belew Lee of Independence, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the comfort of her own home. She was born in Pendleton County, KY on May 31, 1934, to the late Erma Hazel {Wilson} and Robert Elick Belew. She was a faithful and devoted wife, mom, and mamaw who will be missed beyond measure.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Ben Lee, Sr.; sisters, Hazel Mae Menefee, Doris B. Menefee, and Sarah E. Belew Stone; and her brothers, Chester Belew, Clyde Belew, Robert Belew, and Arthur Belew.

She is survived by her sons, Joseph B. Lee, Jr. and Louis Clayton (Jesse) Lee; daughters, Cynthia J. Lee and Patricia J. (Billy) Dabney; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; as well as other close friends and relatives who will cherish her memory.
