Obituary of Richard Spencer
Richard Allen “Spence” Spencer, age 81, of Walton, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at his residence. Richard was a United States Marine Veteran and a member of Hopeful Lutheran Church. After serving his country and being honorably discharged from the United States Marines, Richard worked for the Kentucky State Police and Roadway Trucking. Later, he served and retired, as a Sergeant in the Boone County Sheriff’s Department where he served for over 30 years. Richard enjoyed hunting in his earlier years, and was known to be a nice, kind, funny soul, who loved to tell a good story! He was preceded in death by his parents, Christopher Columbus Spencer and Amy Case Spencer; sister, Barbara Spencer Nabor; brother Mark Spencer; granddaughter, Lauren Angel; and son-in-law, Jim Angel. Left to carry on his legacy and share his stories are his wife, Linda Rouse Spencer; children, Holden Donohoo, Hunter Donohoo, Greg Spencer (Sharon), Laurie Angel, Scott Spencer, and Mark Spencer (Melanie); step-daughters, Amanda & Andrea Donohoo; six grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and his beloved dog, Boone. Visitation for Richard will be Sunday, June 23, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hopeful Lutheran Church, 6430 Hopeful Church Rd., Florence, KY 41042.
