Obituary of Joann Hand

Joann Hand, 75, of Owenton, KY, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, June 26, 2024. The daughter of the late James and Maxine {McElroy} Embry, Joann was born in Dayton, KY on June 13, 1949. Joann retired after many years spent as a Bus Monitor with the Kenton County School District. In her spare time, Joann liked to be outdoors enjoying nature. Her greatest joy came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all knew her as their beloved “Granny.”

She will be greatly missed by her daughters Sarah (Chad) Siffel, Erin Fleet, Shaunna Consillio, and Bethany Rosier; her son Robert (Amanda) Green; grandchildren Sydni (Tyler) King, Taylor (Joey) Hines, Blake Green, and Case Green; great-grandchildren Sadie and Nathan King; brother Denis (Denise) Embry; sister-in-law Vickie “Tara” Embry; her precious dog Taysy; and many extended family and friends that will forever cherish Joann’s memory.

In addition to her parents, Joann was preceded in death by her husband David Hand, son Terry Hand, and brother Dale Embry.

A visitation will be held between 1 PM and 3 PM with a memorial service to immediately follow at 3 PM on Sunday, June 30^th at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051.
