The Huesman and Elbert families go way back in Independence. Lots of stories told by my Dad (Herbie) about growing up with the Huesman boy’s especially playing baseball and in later years softball. Their dedication to the community as volunteer fireman strengthened their friendship. Many nights were spent together with the two families playing euchre . We have lots of fond memories of Joe through the years and we will miss him. Debbie and Mark remember all the fun you had with your dad and I’m sure that will warm your heart. Joe was like a brother to me I always looked up to him. Growing up knowing him Mark andDebbie they were always like family. He had a unique relationship with my dad and when I lost him Joe was there for me. Going to miss you Joe tell mother hello.

The entire Pioneer family is saddened by Joe’s passing. His dedication to the athletic department at Simon Kenton was extraordinary and will be missed by everyone involved. My condolences to Mark and Debbie. You both meant the world to him. Joe’s patriotism was only surpassed by his love of the Catholic Church., and he is surly resting in the arms of his Savior.
