Obituary of Mark C. Gatman
Mark C. Gatman of Erlanger, age 51, passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024, while in the comfort of his own home and with his loving family at his side. He was born on May 12, 1973 and grew up in Northern Kentucky. Mark attended Thomas More University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree. He was currently a Research and Development Chemist at Trinseo, formerly known as Aristech Acrylic where he worked for 28 years. Mark was a lifelong learner and would constantly seek knowledge. He genuinely enjoyed a challenge and learning new things. His impressive intelligence and creativity fueled him. Mark loved to play board games, D&D, and spending his time outdoors by hiking, camping, and visiting the Red River Gorge. He also coached baseball and wrestling and was involved in the Boy Scouts. Most of all, Mark loved being a devoted husband and father. His wonderful sense of humor and comforting presence will be deeply missed by those who knew him.
Survivors include his loving wife, Candy {Fehler} Gatman; beloved son, Jackson Gatman; mother, Diane {Kishel} Gatman; siblings, Karen (Greg) Dinoia and Katie (Jeff) Krohman; in-laws, Finis and Debbie Fehler, Shawn (Anna West) Fehler, Matthew (Amanda) Fehler, Ashley (Casey) Kennedy, Brittany (Grant) Holbrook, and his dog, Penny; as well as other close friends and relatives who will cherish his memory.
He is preceded in death by his father, Robert “Bob” Gatman and his faithful dog, Rupert.
A gathering of friends will be held on Friday, August 2, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. A celebration of life service will begin at 6:00 PM, at the funeral home. Memorial donations can be made in Mark’s name to St. Elizabeth Integrative Oncology by clicking here.
