Jessie Grimes of Manchester KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 1, 2024, at 81 years old. She was the daughter of Anderson and Lucy Allen; the wife of Clifford Grimes for 56 years; the beloved mother to her two children, son Ricky (Karen) Grimes and daughter Sandy (Rick) Rettinger; grandmother to Britni (Brad) Wing and two beautiful great-grandchildren Josie and Jaxon Wing.

She is survived by her sisters Fay (Jim) Cook and Audrey Layne; brother Gordon Allen; and many nieces, nephews, close friends, and extended family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Jessie is preceded in death by her siblings Van, Alma, Shirley, Betty, and Earl.

Jessie had a passion for all things green; she loved gardening, mowing grass, having pretty flowers, and sitting on a bank fishing! She started working after the children both were in school at Hopple Plastics for 25yrs until she retired, she was a leading assembler first and graduated to a supervisor. She was on their soft ball team as well as an avid bowler for years. She enjoyed her weekly night out with her coworkers and was a pretty decent bowler!  She enjoyed going to yard sales, auctions, and loved to brag about her latest bargains she had found! Jessie enjoyed watching UK basketball games, especially with her sisters, they would text each other like teenagers during the whole game. She loved keeping up with everything Bengals as her son and son-in-law loved talking about it so much that she loved staying up on the latest news!

Jessie was loved by everyone she met and will be greatly missed, but we are confident and have faith that we will be reunited someday through Jesus Christ our Lord!

A visitation will be held between 11 AM and 1 PM with the funeral service to immediately follow at 1 PM on Friday, September 6th at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike, Independence, KY 41051. Jessie will be laid to rest next to her husband at Richwood Cemetery in Walton.
