Obituary of Lawrence H. Bischoff
Lawrence “Larry” H. Bischoff, age 90 of Fort Mitchell, KY passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospice Edgewood on Labor Day morning of September 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Larry, a graduate of New Haven High School, was drafted into the United States Army in January 1955 as a Pvt-1 in Fort Thomas, KY. He was stationed stateside as a SP4 jeep driver for his company commander in Co. F 30th Inf Regt of the 3rd Infantry Division at Fort Benning GA. He served his time honorably until January 1957. While in the Army he began writing to a local girl he knew of from a nearby farm. He would marry her, Mary (Kay) Kathryn Cuzick, in October of 1959. They were the first couple married in the original frame building of the All Saints Catholic Church in Walton, KY.
Larry and Mary Kay raised their three children Matt, Pat and Becky in Fort Mitchell and were parishioners at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Friends may remember Larry from his days working as a skilled machinist at Cincinnati Milacron. He worked there for 30 years before retiring in 1996 and spending the next 28 years with his family and taking care of his grandchildren.
Larry is predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Catherine (Schawe) Bischoff, brother Carl and many brothers and sisters in law. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Kathryn (Cuzick) Bischoff, children, Matt (Cindy) Bischoff, Pat Bischoff, and Rebecca (Michael) Parker; grandchildren, Henry Bischoff MIC, Katie (Jeremy) Hoffman, Ellie Bischoff, Michael Bischoff, Anna Parker, Adam Parker, Mary Alice Parker, great grandson Joey Hoffman and sister Catherine Reeves along with many nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, September 6 at All Saints Catholic Church, where Larry was wed to Mary Kay. His family will process with him to his final resting place at St. Patrick Cemetery, where Larry will be celebrated with military honors.
