Obituary of Ann Allen
Ann Allen, 79, of Independence, KY, walked into the arms of Jesus on Monday, September 9, 2024, at home surrounded by her grandchildren as her daughter sang “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be” while taking her last breath. Ann was born in Barbourville, KY on October 14, 1944, and was raised by her paternal grandmother, Martha Ellen Green. A devout Christian, Ann was a follower of Christ and served her Lord for her whole life. She enjoyed singing in the church choir and sharing her love of God. Ann was known for her sense of humor, kindness, and hospitality towards others; her warmth and happiness would fill any room she would walk into.
In her pastime she took pride in decorating her home and creating a beautiful space for family to gather. Ann loved her family deeply; her family will continue to cherish her memory for years to come.
She will be greatly missed by her beloved husband of 63 years, Bill Allen; children Martha Sue Current, Chana (Bode) McKinley, William Joseph Allen, Angel Allen, Jessica Caldwell, and Devon Allen; brothers James E. (Candy) Green and Wesley (Linda) Campbell; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her precious dog, Pyro “Pypy.”
