"To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides."

- David Viscott

Carolyn Jean Cox, née Bornhorn, 83, of Union, KY, passed away at her home enveloped in the love of family on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.  Born on August 29, 1941 in Covington, KY, she was the daughter of Robert Bornhorn and Evelyn [Smith] Bornhorn.

Carolyn’s singular life focus was her family.  Those she loved were her entire world. She was the cherished partner and wife to Gary Gray Cox and beloved mom to Jennifer (Douglas) Laumann, Michelle (Mark) Vulhop, Scott Mann, and Greg (Michelle) Mann. Carolyn was a dear sister to brother Robert “Bob” Bornhorn, Jr. (Barb), Jack (Sharan) Bornhorn and sister Mary Jean (Mike) Brinker. She was a treasured “Gigi” to her 10 grandchildren and her 7 great-grandchildren as well as a precious aunt to many nieces and nephews. Carolyn’s light will continue to shine on in the hearts of many other close relatives and dear friends including former husband James Mann. We take comfort in knowing that Carolyn is now joining her late mother, father and brother, Bob.

Carolyn’s life will be brightly celebrated and her remains will be tenderly laid to rest in a private ceremony at the convenience of the family at Independence Cemetery, Independence, KY.  Please consider making an online memorial donation in Carolyn’s honor to the Greater Cincinnati Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association.
