Obituary of John Ball
John Russell Ball, age 44, of Crittenden, Kentucky, passed away suddenly at his home on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.
A member of the Piner Baptist Church for the past 23 years. He attended with his family. He enjoyed time spent camping, and visiting new parks to fish in. John loved time on the water regardless of if he caught a bluegill or a giant bass. He was a friendly person and loved to talk! Meeting others was easy for him and he made people feel welcome. John’s neighbors will surely miss their interactions with him as he took his evening strolls. A “hello” can mean so much to some.
As John entered adulthood, he was involved in an accident that altered the course of his life. Though he battled many obstacles, he remained resilient. He chose to be a light to others and press on. John gained a new interest in sports, even joining a basketball team. He gained many new friendships and the support of a community. John competed in the Special Olympics. He found joy in bowling with his colleagues.
John is preceded in death by his grandparents, his aunt Barbara Wilson, and his special friend, Allen.
He will be deeply missed by his father; John Ball, his mother; Katherine “Kathy” Ball (Meiners), his aunts and uncles; Jerry (Nancy) Ball, Carl (Kit) Ball, Kenny (Janice) Ball, Brenda (John) Taylor, John Wilson, Lois (Johnathon) Brueckner, Phyllis (Jim) Drake, and Chet (Cindy) Meiners, an onslaught of cousins and especially his cousin Michael Taylor, his Grant County Bowling League, and many others.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024, at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence Chapel beginning at 11:00am. His funeral service will begin at 1:00pm. Please join his family and friends.
