G. Preston Art, 83 of Walton, KY, passed away on Sunday, November 3, 2024. Preston was born on March 19, 1941 in Paint Lick, Kentucky.

Preston worked to put himself through college where he graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in Pharmacy. After spending a couple of years in Maryland, where he met his wife Pat, they married and moved to Kentucky where Preston opened his own drug store in Walton. After selling his store and retiring at 42, he poured his heart and soul into farming, his true passion.

Preston’s other passions included all things University of Kentucky sports, fishing, his dogs, his family and his grandchildren, hanging out with friends laughing and telling jokes, and above all, helping people. If anyone ever needed a hand, Preston was always there to help.

Preston is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Art; his parents, James and Ruth Art; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Beth Art; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Art.

 Preston is survived by his sons, James Harper (Kathleen) Art and Brian Preston (Yolanda) Art; and brothers Wayne and Parker (Vicki) Art. Preston also leaves behind his grandchildren, J. Preston Art, Lillian Art, Augustine Art, Francine Art, Ethan Art and Mateo Art. In addition, he is survived by many nephews and nieces and great nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 10, 2024, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton, KY. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, Verona, KY with burial to follow at 2:00 p.m. at Old Paint Lick Cemetery, Paint Lick, KY.
