Michael Alexander Bishop from Pflugerville, Texas, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024, after a long illness.  He was a fighter to the end, with his family by his side, as he crossed into heaven.  Mike was born on November 11,1945, in Bloomington, Indiana, to his parents, William Alexander Bishop (1922-2000) and Anna Mae (Utz) Bishop (1925-2003) and was the grandson of Alexander Bishop (1895-1966) and Gertrude Bernadette (Schott) Bishop (1897-1972).  He was originally from Independence, Kentucky, and was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, who served his country honorably during the Vietnam War as a Personnel Specialist between 1964-1967, with a tour of duty in Germany, and then continued serving proudly in the U.S. Army Reserves until 1970.  Mike achieved the rank of Technical Specialist 5th Class and was a highly decorated soldier who was a Sharpshooter and awarded the prestigious National Defense Service Medal for his Distinguished Military Service.

After serving his country, Mike continued his career as a Senior Certified Service Technician for Central Services, Inc., making people happy with every service call.

Mike was the third of eight children and is survived by his wife Bonita "Bonnie" Joyce (Riley) Bishop, his daughter, Michelle "Shelley" Dawn (Bishop) Leslie of Charlotte, North Carolina, step-daughter, Heidi Jean (Rieger) (Jason) Chiappardi of Round Rock, Texas, grandchildren: Dylan Mark Leslie of Charlotte, North Carolina, Brandon Michael Bishop of Columbus, Ohio, Ireland Mae "Twit" Chiappardi, of Round Rock,Texas, Kyle Michael Humble of Louisville, Kentucky, and Matthew Stuart Humble of Nicholasville, Kentucky.  Siblings: Thomas Ambrose Bishop of Sadieville, Kentucky, and Andrea Sue (Bishop) Burkhart of Independence, Kentucky.  In addition to his parents, Michael is predeceased by his son, Michael David Bishop, who is fondly remembered as "Beatle" and his sisters: Marie Cecilia (Bishop) Wolfe, Mary Regina (Bishop) Taylor, Linda Catherine (Bishop) Pagliai, Rose Ann "Rosie" (Bishop) Howard; and a brother: William Anthony Bishop.

Mike loved horses, camping, and, especially, coaching his son and daughter in football and baseball.  Mike was living a dream of sheer bliss with his beloved wife and best friend, Bonnie, as they have known and loved each other their entire lives.  Mike was adored by his two loving dogs: Thomas and Cooper.  Thomas is especially mourning the loss, as he was Mike's shadow and protector who loved him unconditionally!

Mike was a loving, caring man!  He will always be remembered as devoted and loyal to his family and friends.  His smile was captivating and contagious, and his laughter would light up any room that he was in.  Mike was a friend to many, as he will be missed by all who knew him.

God Bless Michael Bishop and long live his memory!
