Obituary of Billie R. West

Billie R. West, 81, of Florence, KY, passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. The daughter of the late Bill and Evelyn {Bennett} Reeves, Billie was born in Barbourville, KY, on April 23, 1943.

Billie had a great relationship with God and was a member of many Baptist churches throughout her years; most recently she attended Florence Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and visiting new cities such as New Orleans, Orlando, and Las Vegas where she attended southern Baptist conventions. She also liked to travel to Charleston, SC where her daughter lived. Billie had a great passion for gardening and would often tend to her flowers and plants. Most of all, Billie cherished the time spent with her grandchildren as they were her pride and joy. She will be sorely missed by all.

She will be greatly missed by her husband of 61 years, Rev. Gwyndol West; children Lesa (Greg) Gilliam, Mark (Terri) West, and Kimberly (Andy) Parece; grandchildren David (Crystal) Gilliam, Sarah Gilliam, Joshua Parece, Annie Parece, Hannah Parece, Matthew West, and Racheal West; and great-grandchild Adrian Gilliam.

In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her siblings, Gorman Reeves, Robert Reeves, Tommy Reeves, and Betty Creech.

A visitation will be held between 10 AM and 12 PM with the funeral service to begin immediately after at 12 PM on Thursday, January 2^nd at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, 11382 Madison Pike Independence, KY 41051. She will be laid to rest at Big Bone Baptist Church Cemetery following her service.
