Obituary of Dorothy Laverene Baynum

Dorothy Laverne Booth Baynum, 83, of Demossville, died Friday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood. She was a homemaker, a past worthy matron of Order of the Eastern Star Rosebud Chapter No. 39 and a member of Gardnersville Christian Church and Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary No. 19. Her husband, Wallace Elsworth, died in 2002. A son, Wallace Elsworth Baynum Jr., died in 1972.
Survivors include sons, Norman Baynum and James Baynum, both of Florence, Grant Austin of Liberty and Barry Austin of Covington; daughters, Sandra Lee Runck, Darla Collins and Sue Hurst, all of Pendleton County, and Martha Dotson of Dry Ridge; a sister, Donna Hopkins of Crittenden; 16 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gardnersville Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Cancer Society, 6612 Dixie Highway, Suite 2A, Florence, Ky. 41042.
