Obituary of Danny Mitchell
Danny Leo Mitchell, age 77 of Walton, KY passed peacefully while asleep at home, the morning of December 29, 2024. He is now enveloped in an embrace from the love of his life, Mary Jo Mitchell (Addington), in their afterlife.
Danny was born and raised in Lincoln County, Kentucky with his parents; Harvey and Madge Mitchell (Brown) and his six siblings.
Bravely, he served our country in the United States Army with time spent in Vietnam. Danny and his bride of 55 years, Mary Jo, made their way to Jones Road in Northern Kentucky where Danny worked as a printer in the print shop at General Electric for 29 years, then served at Xerox.
Bird watching, bush hogging, and growing a garden were interests of his through the years but his greatest joy was spending time home with family. When visiting his home of 50 years, one would immediately know that the love of family and grandchildren was a priority. He enjoyed fishing every year for crappie with his sons throughout Kentucky. He was proud to display the American flag and to celebrate Veterans Day and Memorial Day.
There is a joyous reunion in heaven with Danny’s wife, his parents, and his brothers.
Danny was a devoted father to Dwight (Angie) Mitchell and Dennis (Jenny) Mitchell, the proud gramps to Haylee (Caleb) Robinson, Hayden Mitchell, Shelby Mitchell, and Garrett Mitchell, the last surviving brother to Gloria Austin and Carleen Maggard, brother-in-law to Barb Mitchell, and a very special person to his extended family, neighbors, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10:30AM until 12:30PM at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home 45 N Main St, Walton, KY 41094. Burial will follow at KY Veterans Cemetery North.
