Obituary of Katherine Lynn Durr

Katherine Lynn Fletcher Durr, age 66, of Owenton, KY, passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Williamstown, KY. Kathy, as she was lovingly known, lived a life full of compassion, kindness, and devotion to her family.

A retired Risk Management Representative for the Kroger Company, Kathy found joy in a variety of interests that reflected her love for nature, family, and animals. She spent many cherished hours riding horses and working in the barn, activities that connected her deeply with the world around her. As a proud member of the Northern Kentucky Horse Network, she shared her love of equestrian life with others. Kathy was also a skilled cook, often delighting her loved ones with delicious meals, and found great joy in tending to her flower garden. Her passion for nature extended to her love of birdwatching, where she took special delight in watching the hummingbirds that visited her home.

Above all, Kathy treasured her family. She was the beloved wife of Steven Durr for 37 years, and a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves behind her son, Michael Cefaratti; step-son, Andrew Durr (Amy); step-daughter, Kara Fowler; and her adored grandchildren, Michael Cefaratti, Lena Cefaratti, Danielle Fowler, Crystal Durr, Candice Durr, Caiden Durr, and Cayleb Durr. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents, Brud and Lenora Fletcher, and her sister, Anita Crouch.

Kathy’s warmth, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be forever remembered for her kind spirit and nurturing nature.

A visitation to honor Katherine’s life will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., with her memorial service to follow at 5:00 p.m. at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, 8461 Dixie Hwy., Florence, KY 41042. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231.
