Obituary of Eva L. Strine
Eva L. Strine, 81, of Morning View, KY, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. The daughter of the late William and Elva {Parks} Runge, Eva was born in Baltimore, MD, on March 15, 1943.
Known for her infectious humor, vibrant personality, and her ability to light up any room, Eva was truly the life of the party. Eva had a unique way of making everyone feel welcome with her laughter and energy. In her younger years, Eva was full of life and had an adventurous spirit; she loved to dance, show animals at the county fair, and horseback riding. Eva had a love for singing, especially Patsy Cline songs, and could often be found belting out her favorite tunes during karaoke nights. A fan of board games, Eva was a fierce competitor, often dominating the family’s favorite games like Yahtzee and 500 Rummy. She also found comfort in her favorite TV shows, always delighted by the antics of Golden Girls, Married with Children, and Reba.
Most of all, Eva cherished her role as a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She found immense joy in the company of her family, often being the glue that held everyone together with love, care, and her spirited personality. Eva had a gift for making everyone feel special, and her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Carrying on Eva’s legacy are her beloved children, James Burton, Adam (Lalla) Strine, and Maria (Russell) Strayer; brother, Ross Runge; grandchildren, Adam Strine, Kyle (Jen) Strine, Joshua Howard, Joseph (Britt) Marshall, Tom (Aileen) Strine, Jeremy (Somer) Marshall, Dakota Strayer, and Cody Burton; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces, Elva (Randy) Everett and Lisa (Chris) Weber; chosen daughters, Pam and Tonya (Brian); chosen siblings, Kenny, Jerry, Mazel, and Mary; and many more extended family and friends.
