Douglas Carroll Bivins, 86

Beloved husband, father, and grandfather passed away at home with the love of his entire family surrounding him. Doug’s passion and pastime were always his immediate family and his church family. He was a member of Union Baptist Church and previously a member and deacon at First Baptist Church of Delray Beach Florida. He was born in Bourbon County and lived his life in Kentucky and Florida. He retired as a manager from IBM after thirty-two years and then operated his own business for nine years before retiring to Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of sixty-one years, Helen Marlene; one daughter Terri Wyatt, two sons Scott Bivins (Terri) and Doug Bivins, Jr. (Shan); five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his three siblings, and two daughters Jesse and Julie. Donations in his memory should be made to one of his favorite charities, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
