Welcoming, Caring, Giving. Mr. Smith is the epitome of these words and more. Upon meeting the father of my sister’s boyfriend, Mr. Smith immediately radiated a palpable energy that was warm and welcoming despite the day’s overcast and chilly weather. His love for his family and friends was apparent and never once faltered in making it known. Just as strong as his love was for the people around him was his love for superheroes - what he didn’t know was he was a superhero himself. Strong and resilient, a real-life Iron Man, he is my nephew’s hero now and forever. His physical presence may be gone, but the comforting memory of his spirit will live on in our hearts. I didn’t have the opportunity to meet Mr. Smith in person, but I can tell what an incredible father he was by the person that my friend Ryan has become. It's clear Mr. Smith raised Ryan with love, strength, and wisdom, and that speaks volumes about the kind of man he was. His legacy lives on through his family, and I know Ryan & Levi will make him proud. Even though Levi is still young, I know Mr. Smith’s spirit and the values he embodied will shape the man he becomes as well. Dennis was a true friend who was kind, funny, and generous. He would help me whenever I needed him. He never complained even though he was going through some extremely tough times. He played down is plight and would always ask how you were doing rather than talk about his situation. Dennis would make me laugh when he needed laughs more than I did. I will always remember his big heart and humble strength. He loved his family and his grandson gave him so much joy. Enjoy your peace in paradise my friend. May God bless you and your family.
