Obituary of Melva Jean Elbert

Melva Jean Stone Elbert, 73, of Independence, died Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Medical Center South, Edgewood.
She was a retired nurse with Regency Manor, Independence, and a member of St. Timothy Church, Union.
Her husband, Dick Elbert, died in 2000.
Survivors include daughters, Debra Hanna of Edgewood and Diana Powell of Omaha, Neb.; sons, Donald Elbert of Deer Park, Ohio, and Denny Elbert of Morning View; brothers, Emery Jordan of Palm Springs, Calif., Norma Jordan of Lakeside, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Timothy Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Independence. Burial will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Independence.
