Obituary of Alta Dexter Bartley Ratliff Cantrill

Alta Dexter Bartley Ratliff Cantrill, 90, of Florence, died Monday at St. Luke Hospital East, Fort Thomas. She was a retired teacher with Pike County Schools and a member of White Oak Chapel Church, Cincinnati. She was a member of the National Educational Association, Kentucky Educational Association and Kentucky Retired Teachers Association. Her first husband, Arvid Ratliff, died in 1974. Her second husband, Curtis Cantrill, died in 1990. Survivors include daughters, Arveda B. Catron of Florence, Judy C. Kabitsch of The Villages, Fla., Sharon R. Welch of Bloomington, Ind., and Shasta E. Rodenhauser of Maineville, Ohio; a son, Brady L. Ratliff of Lexington; brothers, Dewey M. Bartley of Hayes, Va., and Robert J. Bartley of Ark, Va.; a sister, Lillian "Bea" Bowling of Belleville, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence. Visitation will begin there at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Richwood Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to American Heart Association, 2936 Vernon Place, Cincinnati, Ohio 45219.
