Obituary of James M. Simmons

James M. Simmons, 81, of Independence, died Monday at VA Medical Center, Cincinnati. He was a retired teacher with Fresno, Calif., City Schools, a member of American Legion Post No. 275 and the Church of Christ of Florence. Survivors include his wife, Juanita Bertling Simmons; daughters, Donna Meeks of Newburg, Ind., Karen Simpson of Visalia, Calif., Diane Darris of Fresno, Calif., and Cheryl Wood of Tacoma, Wash.; sons, Wayne Simmons of Ventura, Calif., Paul Simmons of Glenn Ellyn, Ill., Greg Myers of Fresno, Leon Myers of Independence, Mike Enzenbacher of Henderson, Nev., and Norm Worchester of San Diego; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Florence Church of Christ at 1141 Boone Aire Rd., Florence, KY 41042.
