James Qualls Jr., 79, of Hebron, died Thursday at St. Elizabeth North Hospice, Covington. He was a retired custodian from Boone County School District and a member of Community Pentecostal Church, Independence. Survivors include his wife, Jeannene Qualls; a son, Don Qualls of Hebron; a daughter, Linda Weyer of Columbia, S.C.; brothers, Marshall Qualls of Danville, Clarence Qualls of Hustonville, and Lawrence Qualls of Liberty; sisters, Ruby Merrell and Bessie Qualls, both of Hebron; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Community Pentecostal Church, Independence. Visitation will begin there at 4 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Fort Mitchell. Memorials are suggested to St. Elizabeth North Hospice, 401 E. 20th St., Covington, Ky. 41014; or Community Pentecostal Church, 11875 Taylor Mill Road, Independence, Ky. 41051. Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home, Florence, is handling the arrangements.
