Obituary of John Paul Romes

John Paul Romes Sr., 90, of Covington, died Tuesday at his home. He was a bar manager retired from Summit Hills Country Club, Crestview Hills, and an Army veteran of World War II. His first wife, Regina Byrne Romes, died in 1945. His second wife, Claire Brake Romes, died in 2003. Survivors include sons, Jon Romes Jr. and Joseph Romes, both of Crittenden, Ronald Romes and Michael Romes, both of Independence; daughters, Tessie Neel of Cincinnati and Becky Roberts of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Jennie Lee Donahue of Florence; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home, Walton. Visitation will begin there at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Fort Mitchell.
