Obituary of Ralph Monson

Ralph Wayne Monson, 78, of Independence passed away Sunday, July 1, 2012 at Villa Springs of Erlanger. He served in the US Army in the Korean War. He worked for Pennington Bakery and later worked as a truck driver for Kenton Co. Public Works Dept. Ralph was also a member of the Alexandria VFW Post # 3205 and a member of the Bradford Masonic Lodge #123 of Independence. Survivors include daughter Jennifer (Terry) Groves of Sparta; sons Jay (Doreen) Monson of Springdale, OH, Robert (Gina) Monson of Independence, and James Anthony (Bonita) Monson of Independence; sister Judy Monson of Newport; brother Donald Monson of Brooksville; 17 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Barbara Ann Ward Monson in January; children Daniel Ray Monson, Deborah Kay Monson, and Michael Wayne Monson; parents Vannie Elmo Monson, Sr. and Anna Hazel Monson Hamilton; sisters Christine White and Irene Martin; brothers Vannie Monson, Jr. and Keevil Monson. Visitation will be Friday, July 6, 2012 from 5-8 PM at Chambers & Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence with Masonic Service at 7:30 PM. Funeral service will be Saturday at 10 AM also at the funeral home. Burial will be at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens of Taylor Mill.
