Obituary of Betty Jaeger

Betty Jane Barnes Jaeger, 85, of California, KY formerly of Kenton County passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Hospice of St. Elizabeth Healthcare of Edgewood. She was a teacher for White's Tower Elementary School for 29 years. Betty was a member of Butler Christian Church, a member of the Christian Women's Fellowship, a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She received her Master's Degree from UK and was an avid UK basketball and Cincinnati Red's fan, however, her greatest passion was for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband George E. Jaeger in 2005; brothers William, James, Robert, John, Jackie and Jerry Barnes; and sisters Margie Childs and Flora Wladysh. Survivors include 2 daughters Dr. Marsha Jaeger (James Ritz) of Pinole, CA and Dr. Peggy (Terry) McDannold of California, KY; son Dr. John (Lori) Jaeger of New Castle, KY; sister Delores Ellzey of Crestview Hills, many devoted nieces and nephews; and hundreds of former students. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 PM, Sunday, October 7, 2012 at Chambers and Grubbs Funeral Home of Independence. Funeral service will be 11 AM, Monday, October 8, 2012 also at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Highland Cemetery.
